Who is Affected

• Veterans residing in Craighead, Poinsett, Mississippi and Surrounding counties of Jonesboro, Arkansas who presently receive care through the Area Health Education Center (AHEC), will begin receiving their care through Ambulatory Care Solutions.

When

• Those affected will begin receiving care through Ambulatory Care Solutions starting June 1, 2009.  Primary, Preventative and Mental Health Care services will be continued starting June 1 for Veterans through Ambulatory Care Solutions, located at 1901 Woodsprings Road, Jonesboro, Arkansas, 72401.

Why

• This change is being made as a result of the expiration of the current VA contract with the AHEC.  A new award was made through the solicitation and bid process in accordance with Federal procurement guidelines.

• Veterans enrolled at the CBOC in Jonesboro, Arkansas may contact the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee at 901-523-8990 or 1-800-626-8282 and press option 4 should they have questions or need additional information.

How will this change affect me?

• The Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee is presently notifying Veterans who are currently enrolled and receiving care at the AHEC of the change, and is working closely with the AHEC in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to ensure a smooth transition of service delivery.  Notification of this change is also being provided to Congressional Offices and local officials of the Jonesboro area.

  Donna Savoy, Memphis CBOC Administrator, said, " there will be no interruption in VA care in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  The Memphis VAMC will continue providing the high quality level of patient care to veterans in the Jonesboro area."
